Vaccine cross-breeding:
After puppies are born, they should be vaccinated. Everyone knows this, but when should they be vaccinated? Are all injections repeated? What seedlings should be used?
Since Hengsheng puppies can obtain a certain amount of immune antibodies through the placenta and breast milk, they can be protected from certain sources of infection for a certain period of time. Because maternal antibodies can disrupt and neutralize the resistance of vaccine viruses, they will disrupt the puppies' active immunity. Maternal antibodies are mainly obtained through colostrum. Depending on the time and amount of colostrum intake, the time for maternal antibodies to protect puppies is also different. At the same time, the protection time for different viruses is also different, usually around eight weeks of age. The concentration of maternal antibodies in puppies is lower than the concentration required for immune protection.
The maternal antibodies that have an immune effect on "canine distemper" and "canine microbial disease" have dropped to a relatively low level at six or seven weeks, and are no longer able to resist these two viruses. Eroded. However, there are still other maternal antibodies at work at this time, so the 6-combination vaccine cannot be injected at the moment to avoid immune failure. At this time, the Dutch Intervet Puppy 2-combination vaccine can be injected on day 42. This vaccine is a specific injection. In this case, the injection can take effect quickly within one to two weeks and play a certain immune role against "canine distemper" and "canine micronosis".
After three to four o’clock, you can inject the six-link vaccine, and after four o’clock, you can inject the six-link vaccine + rabies. Immunity develops after two weeks. This completes the immunization process. Since then, six combinations + rabies have been added once a year. (The above are all based on Intervet as an example)
Some partner areas may not be able to obtain the two-shot vaccine. If you are not in an epidemic area, you can take conservative immunization measures, that is, start the first immunization at seven to eight weeks of age. Inject the six-drug vaccine, the second dose of the six-drug vaccine should be given two or three weeks later (the general interval for domestic vaccines is two weeks, and the interval for imported vaccines is three weeks), and then two to three weeks later, the six-drug + rabies shot should be administered. If in an epidemic area, puppies should be injected with hyperimmune serum when they are four to five weeks old, and then injected again ten days later, and then in accordance with traditional vaccination procedures.
Vaccine Precautions:
1. The vaccine should be of the same brand, and the brand cannot be changed during the immunization process, otherwise it will easily lead to immune failure.
2. Vaccines should pay attention to the storage conditions. Inactivated vaccines should be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius to prevent interruption, high temperature and direct sunlight; attenuated vaccines should be stored below -15 degrees Celsius to maintain their effectiveness. efficacy.
3. Only healthy dogs can be vaccinated. Immunity generally develops within 10-15 days after vaccination. During this time, puppies cannot be bathed. Before the vaccination program is completed, outdoor activities should be reduced as much as possible and no contact with other dogs should be avoided.
4. For puppies of appropriate age who cannot be vaccinated due to physical reasons, they should be injected with hyperimmune serum first, and then the vaccine can be injected after the body recovers.
Precautions related to deworming:
Puppies Dogs should be dewormed when they are 20 days old. Most puppies have intestinal parasites, which are detected through the placenta or milk of the mother. Common intestinal parasites include roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, etc. Loss of appetite, weakness, slow growth; constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and increased abdominal girth can lead to serious complications and death. Parasitic symptoms in adult dogs are generally invisible, even if they are not present in the feces. Puppies should be dewormed for the first time when they are 20 days old, once a month until they are six months old, once a quarter starting from the age of six months, and once every six months after they reach adulthood.

It is recommended to use deworming prescriptions for dogs and cats, which is safer.
Anthelmintic prescriptions:
1. Taiwan You. The "Anthelmintic Tablets" produced by Da Company are very effective and have relatively small side effects.
2. "Levamizole" is a very cheap and practical prescription, sold everywhere, and the dosage is 10mg/ kg, oral administration.
3. Anthelminticide (thiimidazole) 10~12 mg/kg, oral administration
4. Abamectin, 0.2 mg/kg, subcutaneous injection. (Puppies should be more careful when using it and strictly control the dosage)
Recipes for tapeworm removal:
1. Praziquantel, 5~10mg. /kg, taken orally.
2. Niclosamide (70mg/kg, taken orally), should be fasted for 12 hours before taking the medicine.
In addition, there is the broad-spectrum insecticide "Ivermectin" which is very effective in repelling insects, but has relatively large side effects and can only be used strictly in accordance with the dosage for adult dogs (disabled for Collies)
Extermination of parasites such as coccidia and heartworms must be carried out under the guidance of a doctor.
External parasites are mainly fleas, lice, etc., and external parasites can be eliminated. The prescription "Fulaien" imported from France is available in two forms: spray and drops, both of which are very effective, safe, and have little side effects. They can also be used on puppies. There is also the domestically produced "Chongchong Ning" drops, which are also very effective. , high quality and low price. As for flea necklaces, it is recommended not to use them because they are too toxic. There have been cases of dogs and cats being paralyzed by the use of flea necklaces!
